Terms of Service

1. The service

FacialSearch provides facial recognition search across publicly available lost-pet and missing-person sources. The service is provided free of charge, without accounts, for personal, non-commercial use in good faith, primarily reuniting lost pets and supporting missing-person searches.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to use FacialSearch to:

• stalk, harass, or surveil any person;
• upload images you do not have a lawful right to use for this purpose;
• circumvent rate limits, scrape results, or access the service programmatically without written permission;
• misrepresent search results as definitive identification.

We may block access for misuse. Search results are probabilistic matches, not confirmed identifications, and must be independently verified before acting on them.

3. Your uploads

Photos you upload for search are processed in memory only and are never written to disk, cached, or retained after your search completes. You retain all rights to your images. See the Privacy Policy for details.

4. Indexed content and removal

Our index is built from publicly available listings. If an image of you or your pet appears in results and you want it removed, use the “Request removal” link on any result. Requests are reviewed manually.

5. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that a match will be found, that matches are accurate, or that the service will be uninterrupted. To the maximum extent permitted by law, FacialSearch is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service.

6. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
