Updated June 20261. The short version
- Search uploads are never stored. Photos you upload are processed in RAM for the duration of the request and discarded. No disk writes, no temp files, no caching, no logging of image data.
- No accounts, no login, no advertising trackers.
- We only keep what you explicitly give us, e.g. an email address for the human-search waitlist or newsletter.
2. What we collect
Search uploads: processed in memory only, never retained. Search metadata (species searched, timestamp, result count, never the image) may be logged to operate and improve the service.
Voluntary submissions: email addresses for the waitlist or newsletter, takedown requests, and contact-form messages are stored so we can act on them and respond.
Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request path) kept for security and rate limiting, rotated on a short schedule.
3. Indexed images
Our search index is built from publicly available lost-pet and missing-person listings. We store these images and their source metadata to provide the matching service. If you want an image removed, use the “Request removal” link on any search result. Requests are reviewed manually.
4. Legal basis (UK GDPR)
We process data under legitimate interest (operating a reunification service over public sources) and consent (where you actively submit your details). You may withdraw consent at any time.
5. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data, and to object to processing. Submit a request via our data request form or email . We respond within one calendar month.
